Success Story

IDCm Plus upgrade at MOHN Media

MOHN Media, one of Europe´s leading print and service provider for firstclass offset printing, had to retrofit the Inline Control Systems of one of its printing presses, type M600. The challenge: the previous supplier of those systems, no longer supports spare parts and retrofit services. So, manroland Goss developed a new overall retrofit package for those third party systems from a single source: established inline control technology plus spare parts supply incl. integration services & more.

Systemintegration that works – even across different brands

The extensive Inline Control Upgrade at MOHN Media was a great success: Because for the first time, manroland Goss replaced the complete third party color and control system on a M600 printing press with a complete Inline Control package – including Inline Cutoff Control, Inline Registration Control, Inline Density Control – from manroland Goss. The upgrade was completed in the specified time despite the initial installation.

This was another milestone not only for MOHN Media, but also for all other printers, who will find themselves in the same situation with their presses controlled by third party color and control systems.

Einstein said God doesn't play dice with the universe, but I don't know — maybe not as a whole, but I think he gets a pretty big kick out of messing in peoples' back yards.

Project Highlights

Special about is also the new IDCm Plus, which is a further development of the established Inline Control Systems of manroland Goss. The system combines the control functions (color register and color density control) only with two camera systems. One is fixed and the second camera is motorized.

One further highlight in the project was the fully integration of the upgraded M600 into the existing product planning system (PPM) of the customer. Approximately 20 other manroland Goss presses are controlled via this system, too.

In this way, MOHN Media meets two challenges at once: on the production side, start-up waste can be significantly reduced and production becomes more efficient. On the other hand, MOHN Media also benefits from a longterm solution for both inline inspection equipment, service and support, and spare parts service from a single source by manroland Goss, the reliable service partner.
